TITLE: “A Blessing or a Liability?”
INSPIRATION: Are you a blessing or a liability to the Kingdom of God?

John 15:2 “He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”

Google defines liability as a person or thing whose presence or behavior is likely to put one at a disadvantage. No one enjoys the company of liabilities; employers don’t retain staff that has become a liability to them; couples nowadays do not want a partner who is a liability to their lives; parents get tired of children who have become liabilities when they are grown enough to be a blessing. Liabilities are burdens, it’s inconveniencing, sometimes an impediment even to the owners growth.

However, lately, many are sentimental and keep nursing liabilities until they run into destruction. Everyone ought to take a stock of their lives to know what is a liability and what is a blessing, so as to progress as God intended. The passage today shows that God takes stock of His Kingdom and He cuts off every branch that doesn’t produce fruit; every branch that has become a liability. Any child of God, that does not add to the kingdom but is always receiving and receiving with no sign of repentance or sign of being a blessing, is a liability to the Kingdom. And God is not sentimental; He would cut off such a person. So, are you a liability or a blessing?

The mandate God gave to man when He first created him is in Genesis 1:28, it saysGod blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply. See that God first of all blessed man, He created everything that man needed and then, He told them “Be fruitful”. As a child of God, you are blessed, you have everything you need to a blessing to the kingdom; in return, God expects that you produce results and become a blessing to kingdom expansion. If you have searched yourself and see that you have been a liability rather than a blessing, there’s room for repentance and still time to become a blessing. If not, you will soon be cut off! Be aware!
