TITLE: “Shift Your FOCUS”
INSPIRATION: Shift your focus from problems and activities to God; put Him first!
Hebrews 12:2a “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith,”
Today, lots of situations, problems, activities, illnesses, survival instincts cause distractions to believers. These things make us lose focus on God and the things of the kingdom. I tell you, there can be a time where, you’re so overwhelmed with what is happening around you, that you forget that God is bigger than all these events! There are people who have stopped serving God unknowingly and deliberately because they are distracted by these events. But this is not God’s intention for a believer; we ought to shift our attention from these problems and fix it on Jesus!
Funny enough, there will always be problems. As far as you are alive, there will always be events that warrant your attention, there will be problems that need solutions from you. The difference is that, the problem you have today may not be the same as the one you had a few years ago. And then, if it is like this, let’s not make these events, problems, forms of distractions, get our attention and focus away from God! Matthew 6:33a (NLT) says “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else,” You must give attention to God first above every other thing that needs your attention!! If you find yourself in such a situation right now, shift your FOCUS now before it is too late!
Jesus Christ said inLuke 9:62 "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God”. If you give priority to the activities, problems and situations around you, ignoring God, Jesus Christ says you are not fit to belong in the kingdom of God. What other kingdom exist? The kingdom of darkness! This will not be your portion in Jesus Name! God is the greatest deliverer from the most uncomfortable situation. Psalm 34:19 says “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;” The best part is that He does it completely in the best way, making it stress free and working for our good! Shift your focus to God instead. Make Him first in your life! The devil has already been defeated! God is in CHARGE!
