Good Morning!!! Great to have you on #InspirationDailywithJumoke today!

TITLE: “SILENCE”
INSPIRATION:  Silence is an unavoidable protector in a man’s life here on earth!

Job 13:5 “If only you could be silent! That's the wisest thing you could do”.

Silence is most times the best friend of a wise man; it works in many ways for different situations. Proverbs 21:23 “Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble”. When Jesus Christ was to answer the religious leaders on the case of the woman caught in adultery from John 8:1-11, He kept quiet because he knew they were trying to trap Him with His own Words; He waited for Wisdom to give Him the best answer. But studying from John 8:12-58, Jesus Christ answered every question that the religious leaders asked because, it was no longer time to keep quiet but talk in Wisdom what God has sent Him to do. Silence kept Him away from unnecessary troubles rifts but He spoke when He ought to, to please God. We also must know when to speak and when to keep silent.

An Englishman said “Listen to understand, not to respond”; James 1:19 says “…Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak...” Silence with attention (not silence to offend) is wise; talk after listening, if not, there will be no communication, nothing learnt and nothing delivered.  Talking is necessary but too much talk causes you to sin. I love the version of Proverbs 10:19 in God’s Word Translation that says “Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk, but whoever seals his lips is wise”. Meaning that there’s no way you can avoid sin when you are talking too much and too long; exaggeration, little lies, over flogging, judging, whining, complaining, gossiping will soon set in the process, sometimes you can do all in one conversation without knowing. Really, do you have to say so much? What if Jesus Christ returns while you are talking, will He pick you with Him? Don’t let these little foxes like this ruin your chances of eternity.

In prayers too, let your words be few; don’t be like the hypocrite Pharisee who was to pay his tithe and started saying all kinds of boastful words in his prayers. Ecclesiastes 5:2  “Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God… let your words be few”.  Apostle Paul advised us to pray more in the Sprit for the Spirit even intercedes for on our behalves (Romans 8:26). In prayers, one can sin when you talk too much! So then, go straight to the point!

Silence is wise in every way! It is also a conscious effort. Let’s build that effort! God’s Grace is sufficient!

Psalm 141:3 Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. In Jesus Name!

Have a lovely day!
