TITLE: “Roll Away The Stone”
INSPIRATION: Stop the excuses! Surrender to God and let Him move you forward!
John 11:38-39 “Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb, a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance. “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible”.
Jesus Christ arrived to heal a critically ill man called Lazarus; but Lazarus was already dead for four days. There was no need to even go near his body because it had started decaying. This was a totally hopeless case in the eyes of man. How would a dead man, already decaying, come back to life? However, Jesus had come, everything would be alright; for He came to give life to the dead man and restore to him, his already decaying body! Glory!
But then, just close to the final victory, they encountered the cave with a stone over it! Jesus said, ROLL THE STONE ASIDE”; their response was the obvious truth but showed that they didn’t fully know the power of Jesus Christ! No stone could stop Him, not even a decaying body; but, they had to roll away the stone for Jesus to enter completely and give them the final victory!!! Same for us, God is fully ready to give us victory but we are holding on STONES hindering Him from completely taking over our lives and manifesting His glory! Stones like bitterness, unforgiveness, envy, ego, malice, anger, jealousy, excuses, laziness, fear, ignorance, faithlessness, lying, lust, fornication, adultery, drunkenness etc. These things are a heavy laden and Jesus is saying to you, ROLL AWAY THE STONE! Take it off you!
Now is the time to surrender! Stop holding on to lifestyles, habits, behavior and principles that hinders your promotion. Jesus could have commanded angels to roll the stone away, He Himself could have rolled it away, but it was not His responsibility, it was theirs! They had a choice to roll it and receive deliverance! You also have a responsibility to work on the things in your life that are hindering God from fully manifesting! Let God in completely! I tell you, these little foxes can make you wait if you continue holding on to them. God has given us the HolySpirit to help us lose them and He has promised to be with us through it all!! ROLL AWAY THE STONE! NOW!
