TITLE: “Good Change is PAINFUL”
INSPIRATION:Good Change is difficult, strenuous and tearful, but you’d come out better than before!
Zechariah 13:9 “I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold.”
Good change is painful; be it your character, habits, friends, every kind of change that’d make you better is painful. For instance, to change your devotion to God and improve your relationship with Him, you’d have to let go of leisure, create more time, develop new habits, if you are sincere and willing, you’d probably have to change your job or go as far as changing your business! I tell you, it can be hard!
One time, I almost fell down, but my ankle saved me the embarrassment. I thought that was all until after 3 days, I started feeling serious pain on that ankle; so bad that I started limping. I began to pray to God to take it away the pain because it was so discomforting. People would offer to help me stretch it but I would refuse because I couldn’t imagine the pain if anyone pulled it. I kept believing God for healing and kept rubbing and soothing it. But the pain got worse, the more reason I won’t let anyone pull it for me. More than a month later, while rushing, the foot with the painful ankle got stuck in a hole and I didn’t know but as I tried to move that leg… chai, the kind of cracks I heard and the pain that followed it, was worse than all the pain I’d felt before. I was so frustrated; wondering that the ankle that needed healing is now worse off. To my surprise, that was the last day that leg ever ached me! I was shocked! The solution was pulling it all along, but because I couldn’t bear the pain, I kept nursing a sprained ankle! Would you rather nurse a sprained, discomforting ankle forever or go through the painful, healing experience and be better forever?
For Jesus Christ to change the place of man with God He went to excruciating pain at the cross; for the Good News to reach the gentiles, Paul went through trials and tribulations; for David’s destiny to change from being a shepherd boy to being a King, he passed through FIRE! For GOOD Change to take place in your life, you will go through pain, trials, temptations and FIRE! But don’t be perplexed, for God said in Isaiah 43:2 “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you”. Glory!!!!
