TITLE: “Numbers 11:25”
INSPIRATION:God’s Word to us from Numbers 11:25.
Isaiah 45:15 NLT says “Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways”. It is very easy to teach messages that are obvious but God wants us to bring it in a different dimension today!
Today, we’d be learning four lessons from the passage Numbers 11:25, it says “the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses. Then he gave the seventy elders the same Spirit that was upon Moses. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But this never happened again”.
1.God Still Speaks: “the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses”; God still speaks in diverse ways, here, He came down from Heaven to speak to Moses, now He speaks through His word, through the HolySpirit, through events, through His Ministers, through every avenue He can reach you. But, do you listen? Do you long to hear Him? Do you believe Him when He speaks? Do you obey Him when He speaks?
2. Delegate: “the seventy elders”; They were there to help Moses; the people God has placed around us, are there to help us shed some weight from the work and continue it to generations! When Jesus Christ started His ministry here on earth, the first thing He did was to choose His disciples because no matter how powerful He is, He needed to delegate, teach and pass on His mission to the world. If He didn’t, we won’t be partakers of the Grace and Salvation He brought to you and me! There is power in delegation!
3. The Same Spirit Conveys Unity: “Then he gave the seventy elders the same Spirit that was upon Moses. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied”.In a gathering whether, the family, office, fellowship, church or meetings, everyone involved must be in the same spirit to achieve the goal through unity and the can-do synergy! In our case, the same Spirit of God! After Moses delegated, the elders couldn’t do what Moses did with human wisdom, they needed unity, divine wisdom and the can do spirit; and God gave all of them His Spirit. We must pray for the Same Spirit of God to dwell among us as we gather for a purpose!
4. The HolySpirit Now Lives in Us: “But this never happened again”; Yes, that’s right! This can’t happen again! Because that same God now lives inside of us through His Spirit! He doesn’t need to come down anymore! Glory!1 John 3:24b says “And we know He lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us”; it says “LIVES”; He doesn’t come and go, stay or leave, He lives in us just like you live in your apartment right now! And through Him, we can do all things, everything including prophesy!!! Glory!
