Happy New Week! #InspirationDailywithJumoke
TITLE: “AVERAGE? Instead, choose EXCELLENCE”
INSPIRATION: The servant with 2 talents in the parable of the talents from Matthew 25:14-30
Matthew 25:28 “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten talents.”. I asked the HolySpirit “Why was the servant with 5 talents given the extra 1 talent?” Remember, he increased his talents from 5 to 10 talents, he already had 10 talents; the servant with the 2 talents increased his own to 4 talents. It seems fair to have given him the 1 from the lazy servant to make it 5 talents or at least share the 1 one talent among them. Then the HolySpirit asked me, does the school give prizes to those that pass with all “Cs” or pass with all “As”? Remember, both passed! When a company wants to give just one prize, and are to choose between those that met their target and those that exceeded their target, who would they choose?” Hmm… I asked again “But HolySpirit, they were given according to their abilities”. And the HolySpirit taught lessons I’d like to share with you!
- Before the master shared the talents between the servants, he had watched them over and over again before he concluded on their capabilities (Matthew 25:15b “dividing it in proportion to their abilities”). They had shown their can-do spirit and delivery attitude! Giving the 1 talent servant, 1 talent, was just another chance for him to prove himself, yet again, he failed. The servant with 2 talents was given the normal standard of 2 talents, yet he delivered the same average results. The 5 talents servant always proofed himself and so, he was given the above average of 5 talents and he impressed his master again by delivering 5 talents more! It seemed to the master that if he was given more opportunity, he would do much more! Your attitude towards delivery and excellence, determines what would be handed to you, don’t settle for average! Strive and show yourself approved with the excellent Spirit of God residing inside of you!!
- If the 2 talent servant had given back 3 extra talents, who do you think would have received the prize of 1 talent? Hmmm… it means that you can build and exceed expectations from where you are, don’t be limited by what others think you can do or can deliver, go the extra mile, let nothing but excellence, be your final goal! ALWAYS CHOOSE EXCELLENCE!

Have a great week going the extra mile and producing excellent results!
