Happy New Week!!!! Great to have you on #InspirationDailywithJumoke today!

TITLE:
“NEVER REPLACE GOD”
INSPIRATION: No matter how important your priorities are, God must come first!

Exodus 34:14 “Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

The passage says “The Lord, whose name is JEALOUS!” Many have known God as a merciful God but do not know Him as a Jealous God! Hmm… you don’t want to know God as a Jealous God, He wouldn’t want His place in your heart, be taken by mere activities of the world. One time, God was so angry with the Israelites that He said in Deuteronomy 32:21 “They have made me jealous with what is no god; provoked me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation”. They substituted Him for human gods and He used a people that were no match for them to provoke them to anger. That is what our Jealous God can do!

There are many things contesting with our priorities today, but Nothing Must Replace God’s Number One Position in our lives. Deuteronomy 4:24 says “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God”. Many have taken Grace for granted and have put God last place in their to do list; sometimes, procrastinate God’s instructions and eventually disobey. God is not pleased with this attitude. Even though He is a patient God, there is still room for God’s anger and discipline towards believers who truly serve Him, don’t let Him show you His other side; I tell you, from Bible experiences, it is usually not a nice one!

Many will say “Am not an Idol Worshipper”; idols no longer come in statues built by man; it’s now in mobile devices, the internet, fashion, gadgets, properties, intelligence, inventions, your company, your job, a man of God, your spouse, employee, mentors, celebrities, etc; things and people that have taken more of our time and loyalty than God. Many no longer look up to Jesus Christ but to men of this world; they want to be more like these men than to be Christ like. Anything or Anyone that takes God’s number one place in your life is an IDOL. Today’s passage says “do not worship any other god”, it was a warning not an advise. If you want to replace or reschedule anything, don’t let it be GOD’s time or position! Be aware and careful!
