TITLE: “Plan for the FUTURE”
INSPIRATION: Pharaoh’s dream about the famine in Genesis 41:2-4
There was going to be famine in the land, the famine would last after years of abundance. God made Pharaoh have dreams to warn against the famine. In one of the dreams, thin cows were eating up the fat cows yet, the thin cows remained thin. More like, you have abundance now, you eat it up and become poor! Hmmm… The latter end of vain riches… If Joseph did not come up with a strategy, the Egyptians would have eaten up all their abundance, which they were already doing, and have nothing left for the future. But with DIVINE WISDOM was on their side through Joseph, not only did they have abundance during the economic crisis, they became richer! That’s God for you!
Plan for the future! In the times that we are, it may not be so easy to save money, but DIVINE WISDOM from God can teach you strategies to employ so as to sustain a brighter future. It doesn’t have to be money for money is not everything. God gave Joseph an idea, taught him preservation of crops, storage measures to prevent pests from eating up the crops and so on. He didn’t save up money, he saved up food which was the necessity, because eventually, they saw that the famine was not only in Egypt but all over. Money was not even a priority at all! But thank God Joseph had divine wisdom, with her, he was able to make more money during the famine. For you, it may be an idea, skill or talent development, career path, location, investment etc. Just ask for Divine Wisdom, she will speak for you!
The thing about eating it all up is that there’s no difference, you will still survive if you save or learn more, you would have gained even more for the future. The dream said that even after eating fat cows, the thin cows still remained thin. Proverbs 23:21a says “For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty”. If you eat up your fat earnings now, it will result to a thin future! Be wise! Save and Plan, for when poverty comes, I tell you, you will forget the great former years. Genesis 41;31 “This famine will be so severe that even the memory of the good years will be erased.”.
