Hello! Good Morning! Great to have you #InspirationDailywithJumoke

TITLE:
“TOO BUSY for INTIMACY?”
INSPIRATION: An intimate relationship with God is vital to God than busy ministry plans.

Luke 10:41 "Martha, Martha,”the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things,”

I sought after the meaning of the word INTIMACY on Google, it says, Intimacy is a process (not a thing) that takes place over time and is not stagnant. It goes further to say that “any kind of stagnation in a relationship kills intimacy”. The synonyms of intimacy include confidence, understanding, caring, affection, close relationship!!! From what I have observed, intimacy is a continuous process, that happens regularly, not occasionally and not every Sunday. The process itself is built by a series of events that must take place in order to keep the relationship going (most of the time) between two persons. These series of events will take and need time… With God, intimacy will mean: talking with God, listening to God, letting Him direct every affair of your life, studying and meditating on His Word to know His mind, and spending TIME with Him EVERYDAY… But, are you too busy for intimacy with God?

An illustration: I heal by faith, this doesn’t mean that I don’t get tired or sick, but the Holy Spirit usually warns me in advance, before I break down. Yea, that’s how close we are. He would tell me I need to sleep longer, rest well, eat certain foods etc, just so that I don’t fall ill. But one time, I noticed I was having constant headaches for a few minutes, joint pain, backache, was sleeping longer than usual etc. I had totally forgotten that these were the symptoms of malaria. I only realised this when I started getting cold from inside my body! So, I took the Holy Communion and I got better. But what baffled me was, usually, the Holy Spirit would warn and tell me in advance, but, what happened this time? The Holy Spirit responded, saying “You have been so busy serving in the church and in the ministry I purposed for you that you have forgotten how to talk to and listen to Me; I have forgotten the time and discussions we shared, the intimacy we had”… I was so sad… I then remembered that He actually reminded me, but I was too busy to listen and take note… Hmmm… I repented.

Martha was so busy preparing for Jesus’ teaching that she forgot the most important thing “to listen at His feet”. Hebrews 10:22 says “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings”. God wants you to do His Will, this is why He has created you, but He also desires that one-on-one relationship with you where you see Him as a good Father and see yourself as His Child that He cares for. Don’t be too busy to love, care and develop intimacy with God. Don’t lose your relationship with Him.

From the parable of the RICH FOOL, Luke 12:21 “a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God."

Have a lovely day!
