TITLE: “EVANGELISE”
INSPIRATION: The Great Evangelist, John the Baptist!
John 1:23 “John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’ ”
John the Baptist had a purpose that was significant in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; his role was to make STRAIGHT the way of the Lord’s coming. Make STRAIGHT there, is to smoothen, make easy, clear all hindrances for the coming of the Lord. There were already people who were going to tear down the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, but John was purposed by God to make things easier for Jesus through Evangelism. John already started telling many about Jesus Christ before His time so much that when Jesus Christ manifested His Glory, many believed! I tell you, many would not have received and believed a single word from Jesus if John the Baptist had not been speaking of Him before.
Because of the words and manifestations of John the Baptist, many knew Jesus Christ would come in human form; many believed Jesus was the Messiah. It was John who identified and confirmed to the crowd that Jesus Christ was the Messiah. Many were waiting for the Messiah so much that when they heard He was around, they were converted! But imagine if John the Baptist did not play his role as an evangelist, who would have believed that the carpenter’s son was the messiah? Whose words would have confirmed to the already blinded Jews that their messiah was before them? Even though some still did not believe, can you imagine how hard it would have been for Jesus to manifest in such arrangement? John was created to make the path STRAIGHT FOR THE MANIFESTATION of our Lord Jesus Christ, so were you!
I tell you, you are a voice needed to penetrate the wilderness around you making the way straight for the Lord in a community, in an organization, in your family, in someone’s life! It doesn’t matter if they don’t understand, if they don’t get you, you need to keep speaking and talking about Jesus! For many will be like Nathanael from John 1:43-49, who even though heard about Jesus from John the Baptist, it was not until he met Jesus personally that he fully surrendered to Him. You do your part like John the Baptist, God is depending on you! Keep Evangelizing! Keep talking about Jesus! He that winneth soul is wise!
