TITLE:
“Small Beginnings”
INSPIRATION: Little with God is much; much with man is little!

Zechariah 4:10a “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin"

Praise the Lord! You know, being a perfectionist has its disadvantages especially when it comes to the things of God. A perfectionist wants everything to be in place before he can starts, it doesn’t matter how small and God loves to see things start and He also loves to see them grow. For instance, some would only get married when they have an apartment, a car, a great job and a whole list of achievements they’d like to reach; some would only marry a perfectly established individual; some would only start a business when they have every single thing that’s needed; some would only start the ministry God purposed for them only when every need is met and so on. I tell you, it doesn’t always have to be this way. Every business, empire, marriage, ministry that has grown today, started from somewhere. As a matter of fact, most things that start big, end with a lot of problems and troubles. Even humans know this; this is why when inexperienced job seekers are employed, no matter how brilliant and promising he looks, he’s posted to the very bottom and then gradually, the he gets promoted till he gets to the top.

One powerful advantage of starting small is that you learn a lot of lessons in the process of growing, so that when you increase greatly, you won’t make the same mistakes that may turn out to be catastrophic in during the great increase. It is easier to control a problem when you are still small. There’s joy in seeing grow, imagine you started a business with $100 and now, the company revolves around $1,000 increasing to $5,000 and so on; there’s this joy and gratitude you’d feel knowing fully well that is can only be God!

Remember the parables of the talents, the master finally told the servant with 10 talents in Matthew 2:23 “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities”. God is wiser than your wisest plans. He loves you and ready to help you through all. But you must be ready to start from where you are and move on into greatness! It doesn’t matter how small or where you start from, start now and leave the rest to God!
